Think Energy Holdings Advances Strategic Agenda in Colombia
Think Energy Holdings completed a series of high-level meetings in Bogotá this week as part of its active strategy to enter the Colombian upstream oil and gas market. The group's Executive Chairman, Gregory C. Smith, and General Manager for the Americas, Daniel Uribe, led the delegation, which held conversations with key actors in the country's energy sector.
The meetings focused on evaluating field acquisition and upstream partnership opportunities in Colombia, a market Think Energy considers a priority for its Latin American expansion. The group has engaged a team of senior consultants with deep experience in the Colombian energy sector to advise on its market entry strategy.
"Colombia is sending the right signals to the international capital. The new government's commitment to reactivating the energy sector gives the market something it has been waiting for, a credible, stable environment where long-term upstream investment makes sense. These are the kind of conditions that bring serious operators to the table," said Gregory C. Smith, Executive Chairman of Think Energy Holdings.
Daniel Uribe, CEO for the Americas, added: "I have had the privilege of evaluating several upstream and downstream projects across Central America through my work with Think Energy, and what excites me most about Colombia is the opportunity to bring both capabilities together, extracting crude and processing it into diesel on-site, in the same operation. That integrated model is what Think Energy was built for, and Colombia is the right market to deploy it at scale."
Think Energy Holdings is a U.S.-incorporated oil and gas group that explores, produces, and processes crude oil and condensate into ultra-low-sulfur diesel through a patented proprietary technology. The group brings American capital, an experienced international board, and a processing technology validated by Texas A&M University and ISO 14067 certified, competitive advantages it intends to bring to every field it develops in the region.
Colombia's ongoing upstream reactivation, led by record investment commitments from Ecopetrol and renewed interest from international operators, makes it one of the most compelling E&P markets in Latin America. Think Energy is positioning itself to be part of that reactivation, not only as an upstream operator, but as a group capable of extracting and processing crude into fuel on-site, adding downstream value in a country that currently imports a significant portion of the diesel it consumes.
Further announcements regarding Think Energy's Colombia strategy will follow as the group advances its evaluation process.
